Welker & Associates offers free consultations to anyone who is looking for help with their financial situation. Some companies, however, act as consultants and a representative from the company will meet with you to discuss your financial options. In most cases, the representative is NOT a Trustee.
Since Trustees in Bankruptcy are the ONLY professionals who can help you file a bankruptcy or a consumer proposal, the representative will charge you for their services, and then refer you to a Trustee in Bankruptcy. Please note that the representative may refer to the trustee as a ‘Court appointed Officer’.
Do you have to pay for a referral to a Trustee?
No, you can meet with one of our licensed Trustees for free rather than paying a consultant to be referred to the Trustee that they deal with.
Please note that Welker & Associates does not now, and will never, have a relationship with a debt consultant. Why? That’s pretty simple – we don’t believe that anyone should have to pay for a service that they can get for free.
