Watch Out For Scams/Identity Theft
By Angie Carter

There are so many scams going around these days. Here are some good tips to avoid getting involved in a money scheme.

If a deal is “too good to be true”, it usually is.

Don’t allow strangers in your home.

Don’t be caught off guard by slick door to door salespeople.

Call your local police department or OPP to find out if there are other people who have reported the same scam in your area.

If you receive a phone call or email DO NOT provide:

names

addresses

phone numbers

SIN number

driver’s license

credit card or banking information

calling card

birth certificate

passport information

Take your time and be an educated consumer
